Terms of service

Last updated 6 November 2026

The short version: your pages are yours. Don't use DocPin to trick, harm or break the law, or we'll take things down. DocPin is provided as it is, and we're a small service, so our liability is limited.

1. About these terms

DocPin is run by Harrison Bay, based in New Zealand ("DocPin", "we", "us"). These terms apply when you use docpin.app, pages published with DocPin, the DocPin API, and the DocPin connectors for AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT. By using DocPin you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. Your account

3. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you publish. You give us permission to store, copy and serve it, and show it to the people you share it with, as needed to run DocPin. This permission ends when you delete the content, except for copies we keep as described in our privacy policy.

You confirm you have the right to publish what you upload, and that it doesn't break these terms or anyone else's rights.

4. What's not allowed

Don't use DocPin to publish or do any of the following:

5. Reports and removals

Anyone can report a page at docpin.app/report or by emailing hello@docpin.app. We can remove or disable content, limit features, or suspend accounts that break these terms or put people at risk, with or without notice. If we take down your page and you think it's a mistake, email us.

Copyright owners can send a notice to hello@docpin.app with the page link, the work it infringes, and how to contact them.

6. AI apps and the API

When you connect an AI app to DocPin, it can publish, rename, move, archive and delete pages, change who can open them, and see who opened them, in the workspace you choose, on your behalf. You can disconnect it at any time from Connections. The same applies to API keys. AI apps are run by their own providers under their own terms.

7. Plans and limits

The free plan currently includes up to 3 pages per workspace and shows a "Pinned with DocPin" badge on your pages. We may set fair-use and rate limits to keep the service reliable for everyone.

Pro is US$8 a month or US$80 a year per workspace, plus any tax that applies, shown before you pay. It removes the page limit, uses a smaller badge, lets you connect up to 3 custom domains, and includes you and one teammate. Each extra teammate is US$4 a month or US$40 a year, added to your subscription when they join and removed when they leave, with the difference prorated on your next bill. Features we describe as coming soon aren't part of what you're paying for until they launch.

Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Settings, Plan and billing in the app. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't refund part-periods. Your pages stay live when Pro ends, and custom domain links forward to your docpin.it links. You can add new pages again once you're under the free limit, but not new private pages or teammates. Payments are handled by Stripe. If a payment fails and isn't fixed, the workspace moves back to Free.

If we change Pro's price we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.

8. The service

We work hard to keep DocPin running and your pages safe, but it's provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we're going to shut down DocPin or a feature you rely on, we'll give reasonable notice where we can so you can export your pages.

9. Liability

As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to DocPin is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or NZ$100.

If you use DocPin for the purposes of a business, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 doesn't apply. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can't be excluded by law.

10. Ending things

You can stop using DocPin at any time and delete your account from the app, or ask us to. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms. When an account is closed, its published pages stop working.

11. Law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using DocPin after that, the new terms apply.
