# DocPin

> DocPin publishes HTML pages made by people and AI apps (Claude Artifacts, ChatGPT pages, reports, dashboards, prototypes) to a link that looks like yours, such as acme.docpin.it/q4-report or docs.acme.com/q4-report. Pages can be public, password-protected or limited to certain people, keep the same link across updates, and keep every earlier version. Publish from Claude or ChatGPT over MCP, from code over a REST API, or by uploading a file.

Key facts for building on DocPin:
- Publishing the same slug again publishes a new version behind the same link.
- Published pages run in a sandboxed frame. Links to other sites open in a new tab. The page's ?query and #hash sync with the address bar, so state written with history.replaceState is shareable. localStorage works per page, per visitor. Cookies and IndexedDB don't.
- Every page has a JSON data store (up to 1 MB) that the page reads with `docpin.data()` or `docpin.onData(cb, { every })`. Update it with `PATCH /v1/pages/{id}/data` or the MCP tool `set_page_data`, without republishing. Page data is as visible as the page: never put secrets in it.
